Assassin’s Creed Directors Cut will be upon us in less than a month. Admittedly, I seem to be the only person on this whole planet who still gives a shit, but then again I also seem to be the only person on this whole planet who genuinely enjoyed “Meet the Spartans ,” so my tendency to like odd things is well established (more…)

Very little in the gaming world would exist were it not for the classic pen and paper game everyone knows and loves, Dungeons and Dragons . As I was browsing around the wizards forums laughing at all the people calling clerics and druids gods and whining about what wizards is going to do with light armored fighters (TWF ranger? Rogue? Swashbuckler? Why fighter in specific?) I couldn’t help but go off on my min/max streak. And so, I give to you the true assassin without having to multi class into it. (more…)

As anyone who has ever in the course of their life been in the same room as a video game should be aware, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was released in America yesterday to the sound of great cheers from nerds, geeks, and dorks.  What this meant for me was spending far too much of my oh so valuable time today dealing with the [insert pejorative here] employees at the student technology center in a vain attempt to get my Nintendo Wii hooked up (more…)

The Epic TeamAny self respecting gamer that knows anything about Nintendo knows that one of their biggest titles for the Nintendo Wii is getting close to finally hitting store shelves. That’s right, I’m talking about the much anticipated, and much delayed, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The series is widely known for bringing the world of Nintendo together in order to beat the living crap out of each other. As well as being a great party game for many gamers to enjoy.

Many returning characters as well as new characters are joining the fight. Most notably, two characters that created a buzz in the gaming world with their appearances are Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake. Solid Snake was the first to make his appearance in the first trailer and it was a major shock to all gamers. Koonami’s bandanna wearing, cigarette smoking, stealth utilizing badass is lending his skills to a world of Nintnedo. Although it may seem a bit odd to see the hero of the Metal Gear Solid series in the same universe, you can’t help but love the cross branding going on. Myself as well as many others are looking forward to playing as Snake and seeing how he holds his own against Mario, Link, Kirby and other stars.

With the addition of Sega’s super speedy blue hero the question gamers have had since the 16-bit days will finally be answered. “Who would win in a fight, Mario or Sonic?” Well now it will be answered in combat form. The closest to finding out whose better so far has been a test for the Beijing Olympics, and we all know Sonic wins the 100 yard dash and Mario wins the high jump. But now the clash of the titans is set to happen. Since the days of the Super Nintendo (SNES to some) and the Sega Genesis these two rivals have been competing for the love of the gamers. And now for the second time ever gamers will be treated to both iconic characters in one game.

With fast and furious gameplay, the addition of the Final Smash attacks, and online play Super Smash Brothers Brawl is shaping up to be the must have game for the Wii in 2008. And it’s about damn time it’s coming out. Look for it on March 9 and check back for my eventual review of the game.

My rant about Crysis, and the death thereof approx. 90% of the way through the game.  This ought to keep you hippies and hookers titillating tantalized until we make some real content.

As many of you may or may not be aware, I recently purchased crysis and have been playing it effectively non stop. Now, on the off chance that some of you may not spend every waking moment obsessing over all things video game [you poor soulless bastards], I will give a brief synopsis. In 2020 a team of archaeologists uncover (more…)
